I'll submit one of my recent poems.  I call it....

A Beautiful Heart

I came across a crowd of people,
They were gathering around.
With faces full of expression,
But no one made a sound.

A man stood before them,
His voice was full of pride,
It seemed like when he spoke..
He had nothing at all to hide.

I listened to him closely.
Having stopped to see the sight.
I had interest in the crowd
That had gathered overnight.

"My heart is the most beautiful,
'It has no scratch, nor blemish, nor blot.
'It has no impurity,
'It has no scar, nor mark nor spot...

"It's the most perfect heart there is.
'It is definitely rare.
'Show me a heart this beautiful!
'All of you, I dare!"

But the crowd remained silent.
His dare; would not take place.
And with no one speaking up,
A smile crept on his face.

'It's kept in mint condition.
'Its truly the purest heart.
"Not a single speck of damage"
'By spear, nor arrow, nor dart."

I listened for a moment,
Placing a palm over my chest...
But barely able to remain alive,
My heart could not pass his test.

I moved my way toward him.
I bustled through the crowd.
I knew the man had seen me,
Because then he laughed aloud.

"Show me your heart.
'And let these people see,
'Your heart has imperfection
'While mine has purity"

"Your heart has holes and voids!
'While mine is still in tact!
'Your heart is missing pieces!
'It is tattered, torn, and cracked!"

I peered across the faces,
Of the people in the mob,
They were gazing back toward me...
When then I began to sob...

"My heart is not perfect."
'It's damaged with specks and spots,
'Its scratched, and it is blemished,
'It's tattered with scars and blots."

"But my heart is beautiful."
'You must see that it is rare.
'Throughout my life I've shared it
'Leaving pieces here and there...

"I've given away pieces...
'That were often not returned.
'But I hold no regrets...
'For those pieces must be earned..."

"But, the pieces that I do have,
'Are filled with purity,
'They've been shared with ones I've loved.
'And given back to me."

"Try to understand,
'The message that I impart,
'I've found true happiness,
'Sharing the beauty in my heart"

The crowd began to rustle,
The man looked in my eyes,
As he, remaining silent.
Offered no reply.

Not a single word was said,
By the crowd, nor him, nor me.
But then he took a breath,
And made his only plea.

His head no longer high,
His voice a doleful tone.
"If you had never told me,
'I would have never known..."

Placing a piece of his own heart,
Into my very chest,
He said "Keep this,
"You have passed the test."

As the man wandered off in silence,
His pride had been subdued.
He had a heart with a blemish now,
But his faith had been renewed...

End.

;D Very nice work. I'll submit one of my own, it's called..

Can't See Me
I walk in, you walk out
I talk but you don't listen
I scream and shout
But still all you hear is silence

As hours go by I sit
Alone
As 24 hours turn to a day
and a single day turns to two
I want to go home

These days are now a week
I feel so weak but still
You can't see me
Your eyes greet mine but still
You can't see me

As if I were a ghost
I am invisible but not invincible
My gift is my curse but nothing more or less
Still looking for the best but the best does not exist
So how can I escape this

As weeks turn to months and the seasons change
from early spring to late fall
The cold winter comes and it has been years later
I still look in the mirror and I don't see myself
Anymore..

I don't see anything..
Am I a ghost? Is this a dream?
Reality is this..
You Can't See Me

Crippled Inside

You can shine your shoes and wear a suit
You can comb your hair and look quite cute
You can hide your face behind a smile
 One thing you can't hide
 Is when you're crippled inside

You can wear a mask and paint your face
You can call yourself the human race
You can wear a collar and a tie
 One thing you can't hide
 Is when you're crippled inside

Well now you know that your
 Cat has nine lives
 Nine lives to itself
 But you only got one
 And a dog's life ain't fun
 Mamma take a look outside

You can go to church and sing a hymn
You can judge me by the color of my skin
You can live a lie until you die
 One thing you can't hide
 Is when you're crippled inside

Well now you know that your
 Cat has nine lives
 Nine lives to itself
 But you only got one
 And a dog's life ain't fun
 Mamma take a look outside

You can go to church and sing a hymn
You can judge me by the color of my skin
You can live a lie until you die
 One thing you can't hide
 Is when you're crippled inside

 One thing you can't hide
 Is when you're crippled inside
 One thing you can't hide
 Is when you're crippled inside

The Broken Bond

This is about to hurt
It is going to hurt a lot
When you're down, pull yourself back up.
And leave no memory left forgot.

You can do this if you try.
Because I have faith in you.
You possess a glint in your eye,
That others seldom do.

Everyone has done this;
The task you have at hand,
It's a part of growing up.
One you'll have to understand.

Although it will be difficult,
Another doleful time;
If you have faith, you will succeed.
You will conquer as you climb.

Widows live their lives,
So you can do it too.
Hold your head with confidence
Hold it proud and true.

You are strong and you are young.
I believe in you.
So forget the past and keep on moving.
Just put it out of view.

Remember if you can,
When you are ill at ease;
We all live lonely, here in life,
So get up off your knees.

Scars fade to thin lines,
With age this is true.
And if you make a promise,
Be sure to follow through.

Do things to feel proud.
Don't sit there in regret.
Being harder on yourself,
Makes things harder to forget.

You have to find your heart,
Before you recommit.
Before you share your world again,
And bring someone into it.

And years from now;
When you have lived your life;
You will have a child.
You will have a wife.

To get there;
You must face a simple test.
By moving it or losing it;
So get out and do your best.

With a little faith,
We can all go very far.
Don't let your past mistakes
Determine who you are.

I know you'll make me proud.
And You know that you could.
So don't waste your life being great at...
Not Doing The Things You Should.
